Snow day

Tillys has had her first taste of snow (literally - she likes to eat it!). She was not sure at first - pawing at the ground with reluctance but soon got used to it.

At least it is not the usual mud stuck to her.

Poorly leg...

Poopy hurt her leg last week so she has been on restricted duties for a little while. We were doing a recall over about 50 metres and she got so excited when I called her that she charged straight into my shin (which is hard). It knocked the wind out of her and she lay on her side whimpering like she had been shot. It was very cute but I was scared at the time!

She then proceeded to limp everywhere and holds her leg up when we meet people as if to say -"My Dad beats me..."

She is better now and we had some nice sunshine this week so I took the camera out with us.

King of the Castle

Why won't the big doggy play with me.

I like the last picture as Tilly has a kink in her tail - however when she wags it really hard it does go straight which is what she was doing here having spent a good 2-3 minutes hunting for her new favourite toy 'Bally'. Thanks David - but I need another one now, one for inside and one for outside as Rach shouts when muddy 'Bally' goes into the lounge!

Inspiration

In an effort to take inspiration from Peter's photos I went out with my camera today when poopy went for her walk.

Still along way to go... some of the advice Peter gave me seems to work though - particularly using a much higher ISO to enable me to increase the shutter speed. Most of the pics I took today were 'stiller'! I will keep trying!

She is still alive!

I know it has been a while... we went to see some friends this weekend and had to convince that Tilly did not die from her encounter with wasps! We were even told we had gone to the trouble of finding an identical springer to replace her. I can assure you we haven't.

One of our friends we went to see is a pro photographer (he did our wedding pics too) and he spent 5 minutes snapping away at Tilly with results that embarrass my efforts on the blog - never mind...

If only I could get that level of attention every time!

This is inspired by a famous photograph - not sure who though!

Tilly is getting on very well - she scored 90% in her end of beginner training class exam - we were very proud of as she was the youngest in the class. Looking at the photo above you will be surprised to know she lost most of her marks on lead work!

Wasps

Our street has been invaded by wasps and our neighbours being the conscientious people they are have had the wasp man out to do his thing. Unfortunately this has meant we have had a number of wasps dying in our back lawn. At first Tilly thought it would be a good idea to play with them despite our warnings. This is how she ended up:

We were both really worried but at the same time it was hard not to laugh at her totally bemused face as her lips swelled up.
She was fine though and his since been stung twice more without any reaction - you would think she would learn!

Tilly has visitors

My Sister Emma and her partner Rich came over this week with their dog Harry (Italian Greyhound) and Mums dog Cookie (Heinz mix up). These lovely pics are all taken by Emma so I can claim no credit!

Cookie with her ball that she left last time she visited that Tilly has now claimed

Tilly making sure Cookie knows whose ball it is!

Tilly and Harry getting to know each other.

Tilly learning to swim - she still thinks front crawl is the way forwards!

Emma was desperate to get in on the 'Ear' action. Not a bad effort!

Tilly and me contemplating life!

Ear Photos

I think one of the main reasons to own a springer is to take pictures of their ears...

Or maybe it is because they are little cuties!!

10 Weeks

Tilly is 10 weeks old today - we didn't through a party we have not gone that soppy yet! She is off to the vets this evening for her second set of jabs so we will be able to take her into the big wide world in a weeks time!

She is settling into her run well - she crys for a minute of two when we leave her but then is fine for a good 3-4 hours. She does hate the rain though and refused to go outside for more than 30 seconds when it has been raining hard.

We decided to try her in the boot of the car without the crate in - withing 2 minutes of leaving the house there was a pretty horrid smell emanating from the boot. We turned round sharpish and spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the boot. Maybe we'll stick to the crate in future.

Here are a couple of pictures - I think she heard that we really wanted an andrex puppy so is trying to make up for it!

Socialising...

We have started Tilly with a bit of light socialisation. Jon sat with her in the boot of the car at Morrison while Rach did the shopping. Isn't it funny how a cute pup attracts people. Tilly loves every second of meeting new people.

When it came to animals it was a little different. Tilly's run backs onto our neighbours fence where Jack (Neighbours Collie) lives. Well they meet for the first time - Tilly yelped and shot inside - Jack wondering what he had done wrong did the same!

We took Tilly to our neighbours who have a 9yr old Black Lab - 'Archie' he is a lovely soft dog and Tilly spent about an hour working up the courage to play with him. She will get there slowly.

She is a little braver with next doors cats who regularly come visiting - the picture shows her trying to get a twig that has fallen preciously close to 'Whiskey'. She never managed to get it!

Photos...

Took the camera out for a play at the weekend! She is hard work as it is rare she keeps still for more than a second! I did manage to catch her asleep though - with her tongue peeking out! She is such a cutie!

The first week...

Sorry for the lack of updates. Tilly's first chewing victim was the laptop cable! It is unrepairable so need a new one. I may try and convince Rachel we need a new laptop but I don't fancy my chances.

Well we have had Tilly for just over a week now. She is so much fun it is unbelievable. She loves the garden and her favourite game is to run between staying only long enough for a quick hug before bounding back to the other!

She had a first trip to the Vet which went amazingly well - it is the first time I have seen her nervous since we have had her. It must be the smell. Within 2 minutes of being on the table she was back to normal again - trying to bite the vets face!

House training is going very well - she has never had an y accidents in her crate which we have been shutting her in over night getting up every now and then to let her out. Last night she managed from 9pm - 4.30am. Bring on a full night.
I have been working nights getting home at 530am. Unfortunately Tilly then wants to play at about 830am. Has not left much time for sleeping!

Today is her first Holiday - we are going to Rachel's parents (about a 45 min drive). We are going to try her in the crate in the car for the first time. Here's hoping. Will take the camera with us so hopefully some new pics tomorrow.

At last she is home...

Far to tired to put full update on but will do it in days to come.

Tilly is now with us at home - she seems very happy and is being a little gem.

Here are a few pictures of her first day.

In the Bath...

Linda sent us some pictures of Tilly getting her pre moving home bath. I do think that is possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen!

Not long now!
